Swimsuit Cover ups : 5 Reasons Why You Need a Designer Beach Cover Up

by Nimrit Sandhu
To start off, what exactly is a swimsuit cover up? It is an item of clothing typically worn over your bathing suit to glam up your look. It’s usually made of a lightweight and quick drying material. You can find swimsuit cover ups in many different styles including dresses, pants, skirts, sarongs, shorts and tops. Shop swimsuit cover ups You can elevate and make your bathing suit stand out. In general, cover ups are made of a sheer material which allows your swimsuit to still be visible. Therefore, a designer cover up helps to illuminate your designer swimwear rather than conceal it. They’re designed to easily pull on and take off for easy and elegant movement while dressing or undressing at the pool. Graceful movement is key. Imagine yourself pulling on tight jean shorts over pool dampened skin in front of strangers. How embarrassing. Below are 5 reasons why you should wear a designer beach cover up to compliment your designer swimsuit: 1. Ties your designer look together Wearing a designer bathing suit cover helps to elevate your entire look. It makes your outfit look expensive without you ever saying a word. In contrast, if you were to pair your designer swimsuit with a cheap cover up or ordinary shorts, your outfit might give off the opposite vibe. Plus, most people don’t bother completing their beach or pool look with a cover up, you’ll look a league above the rest. Centre of attention, here you come! 2. Makes you look like a trendsetter with your revolutionary choice A designer beach cover up elevates your look to a whole new level. It makes you look sophisticated and elegant. You can tell the quality of an item by the material used, the stitching, but most importantly, the overall fit. The way it accentuates your figure is a major tell sign. Can you imagine your favorite celebrity wearing a designer outfit with a cheap jacket? No, because it would never happen as influencers know this is a fashion faux pas. 3. Smoothly transition between a swim look and an event look Women’s swim cover ups allow you to seamlessly transition from one scene or event to the next with minimal effort. For example, after lounging poolside, you can slip on a swim cover up and look sophisticated enough to have brunch at the restaurant beachside. Or a fancy chic cover up dress can easily transition to a sexy beach club outfit, with matching wedges. 4. Protects your skin from the harmful ultraviolet rays You need to protect your skin from the sun every now and then. A luxury beach cover up allows you to get some reprieve while still spending time in the sun without the sunburn. Plus, it’s more fashionable than a towel or beach umbrella. You can look fashionable as you relax on a nice hot summers day without worrying about prolonged sun exposure. 5. Can help with body insecurities to make you feel more confident Most of us are insecure about certain body parts. Beach cover ups are a great way to help. When you’re out of the water, you can feel more comfortable with a cover up. It allows you to cover up if you feel insecure or remove it when you feel confident. Even just having the cover up with you can give you the courage to not have to use it at all. Insecure about your arms? Get a cover up top. Insecure about your thighs? Get a pair of cover up wrap pants or a dress. At Sun Vixen Swimwear, we love cover ups and think everyone should own a couple to go with their swimsuit collection. It’s essential for everyone’s closet, like a little black dress. There are many different styles but finding one that fits your needs is the most important. Think about where and how you would use it. This will help you narrow the style, material and colors you prefer. Get 10% off your 1st order of Swimwear Cover Ups

Looking for inspiration on how to elevate your beach look? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Sun vixen Swimwear believes that the best way to boost your confidence is with a head-to-toe style. Just like toast goes well with peanut butter and jelly, we believe there are some things that go great with your swimsuit. You can transform a lonely swimsuit into an entire extravagant look. Be a beach goddess, where others are awestruck by your impeccable taste and style Here we highlight 5 ways you can boost your beach look. 1. Use body bronzer/self-tanner Having a tan gives your skin a healthy vibrant glow. But getting a tan in the sun can take hours. You can speed up the process with a great self-tanner to give yourself a bronzed beach look. Plus, you get a beautiful, radiant tone without damaging your skin. We recommend St Tropez self tan express bronzing mousse and Bali Bronzing foam from Coco & Eve. Both give a striking tanned finish without any unwanted orange tone. 2. Use a body highlighter This is the step most people skip but can make you look like “Wow!”. Using a body highlighter gives your skin a radiant sunkissed glow with a subtle shimmer. Add to your decolletage and collar bones to make them stand out. You can also highlight your nose and cheekbones to give your face added glow. The most stunning effect comes from highlighting the top of your thighs, shoulders, and upper arms. Choose just one or two areas for highlighting otherwise you risk looking like a disco ball. We recommend the Becca ignite Liquified light highlighter and Patrick TA Major Glow Body Oil. Both have a lovely glowing effect so you’ll look magnificent. 3. Wear a designer beach cover up Designer beach cover ups do wonders to elevate your bathing suit and your self-confidence. Our favorites are made with a sheer material to allow your swimsuit to be visible underneath. Why not illuminate your designer swimsuit rather than conceal it? Our favorite designer beach cover ups are PQ Swim’s black lace cover up and Poema’s Havana beach cover up. 4. Wear body jewelry Wearing body jewelry that compliments your swimsuit takes your look to a whole new level. You can wear something prominent like a waist or a body chain for a show-stopping look. Or opt for something more subtle like a necklace, bracelet, or anklet. No matter what you choose, wear something you will be comfortable in. It should not get in the way of your relaxing day. You can even get waterproof jewelry to ensure you can wear it while swimming. Our favorites are this gorgeous sterling silver sphere pendant necklace and tarnish-resistant infinity anklet. 5. Finish your outfit with sun accessories Complete your look with a bold hat or a pair of sunglasses. This serves the dual purpose of keeping you protected from the sun while adding to your overall look. Finish with a cute pair of flip-flops such as these eco friendly sandals from Third Oak. Our bestselling hat and sunglasses are these versatile pair fedora sun hat and rose gold mirrored sunglasses. So why be plain toast when you can be DELICIOUS peanut butter and jelly? The most important thing to tie all the 5 points above together is confidence. Straighten your back and prop your shoulders up. Showcase your gorgeous look completed with bronzer, highlighter, a designer beach cover up, jewelry, and some accessories to everyone in sight. Did we miss any other tips? Let us know.

WHY is finding a bathing suit that fits so hard? - 7 REASONS people HATE wearing swimsuits

by Nimrit Sandhu
Vacation time means heading to the beaches and lounging by the pool. Being confined indoors since last year was hard on everyone. This year, people are heading outdoors the first chance they get. Wearing minimal clothing can be intimidating for some. This is why it’s a good thing body confidence has gained momentum worldwide over the past few years. Everyone should rock their body in swimsuits. And what better way to do it than luxury designer swimwear? Yet, people still avoid wearing bathing suits for several reasons. Below we have the TOP 7 reasons people hate wearing swimsuits. We also outline ways to curb these issues to make the experience more enjoyable. 1. Incorrect swimsuit for your body shape The first step in finding the perfect swimsuit is knowing your body shape. You can check out our article here to learn your body shape using the chart that explains in detail. Dressing according to your body type helps to flatter one's physique. By accentuating your best features and hiding problem areas one might have you can feel much more comfortable. 2. Unattractive color that doesn't flatter skin undertone Everyone has a different undertone. From yellow undertones to olive, to warm, and neutral skin tones. Click here for a helpful guide to skin undertones and which colors suit you best. Once you’ve found what works best for you, stick to these color swimsuits as they make you look more vibrant and alive. 3. The fit of the swimsuit is not the right size Size charts differ from brand to brand. It is important to look at the brand’s size chart for each swimsuit to help you pick the right size. Recently we had a loyal customer who picked a swimsuit based on a size she ordered from a different brand. This led to the swimsuit being very large on her. Your swimsuit expands once it's submerged in the water. This makes it vital to ensure all measurements are correct to get the best fit. 4. Unbreathable or itchy material We’ve all had those materials that look comfy but as soon as we put them on, they are itchy and can even give you a rash. Some swimsuit materials are no different. They stick to your body and you want to get out of them as soon as possible. Nylon and Polyester are the best materials for swimsuits. Nylon is comfy and soft. It is stretchy but hugs your body in all the right places. Polyester is soft but very strong and is resistant to chlorine and UV rays. 5. Unsecured feeling as swimsuit slips and slides Swimsuits that have anti-slip on the bust are game-changers! This allows the swimsuit to stay in place so you don’t have to keep readjusting every 5 minutes. Some materials also keep coming undone no matter how many times you tie them. This can be frustrating when trying to enjoy a swim and worrying about your bathing suit falling off. Adjustable and convertible straps help to give extra support and security. 6. Swimsuits that stretch out after a few uses Proper swimwear care helps fight against the breakdown of the stretch fabric which is essential. It protects from wearing, stretching, sagging, and fading in swimsuits. Following our swimwear care guide along with using this Canadian-made swimwear-specific cleaner can help your swimsuits last up to 10 years. If you follow these instructions, we’re sure you’ll get tired of the design on your swimsuit before it gets worn out from usage. It deep cleans to get lotions, oils, and chlorine out of your swimsuit while being gentle on the fabric. 7. Prints or colors that are outdated Outdated prints and colors are so last seasons. Here is Sun Vixen Swimwear, we love having swimsuits that are on-trend and prints that are stylish. Our designers use the highest quality materials to ensure they do not fade or look worn out. The materials have a very long lifetime and look brand new for many years. Some of our popular brands are PQ Swim, Sea Level Australia, Beach Bunny, and Agua Bendita. Read our blog for the latest trends and styles. Many swimsuits that have these problems are cheap and aren't made with care.
