7 ways to look slimmer in a swimsuit in 5 mins or less

by Opal Hurteau
Want to know the secrets to looking slimmer in a swimsuit? It's easier than you think. Read these 7 simple tips to feel confident in your swimwear at any size. Shop Slimming Swimsuits Not everyone is a size 4 with an hourglass shape. Different body shapes and sizes require different considerations to look your best when wearing a bikini or one piece swimsuit. Flatter your figure with swimsuits that make you look slimmer We've gathered the 7 best, and easiest, ways to look slimmer in a swimsuit, immediately. Read on to find out how! Choose a Flattering Swimsuit When shopping for a swimsuit, it's important to consider your body type and choose a style that flatters your figure. Swimsuits for Athletic Shape For instance, if you have a pear-shaped body, consider a swimsuit with a plunging neckline to draw attention to your upper body and create balance. On the other hand, if you have a straight or athletic body type, a swimsuit with ruching, shirring or ruffles can create the illusion of curves. Swimsuits for Pear Shape It's also important to pay attention to the cut of the swimsuit. For example, high-cut legs can elongate your legs, making you look taller and slimmer. When trying on swimsuits, don't be afraid to take your time and try on different styles until you find the one that fits and flatters you best. The right swimsuit for your body type can make all the difference. Shop Tummy Control Swimsuits 2. Wear Dark Solid Colors While bright colors and bold patterns can be fun, they can also draw attention to areas you might want to minimize. Dark, solid colors, on the other hand, can create a slimming effect by drawing attention away from and minimizing those areas.   Black, navy, and dark brown are classic colors that are universally flattering and always in style. Plus, they're versatile and can easily be paired with other colors and accessories. 3. Measure Yourself and Follow Sizing Guides One of the most important things to keep in mind when shopping for a swimsuit is to find the right fit. Taking accurate measurements of your bust, waist, and hips and following brand specific size guides can help ensure that you're buying a swimsuit that fits properly. Read how to measure yourself correctly When it comes to sizing, each brand has its unique size guide so follow the size guide specific to the brand of swimsuit you want to buy. Ill-fitting swimsuits can make you feel self-conscious and uncomfortable and even make you appear bigger than you really are. A well-fitting swimsuit can boost your confidence, make you feel great, and even make you look like you've lost weight. 4. Buy Quality Over Quantity Designer swimsuits are made with high-quality materials and fabrics and offer more structure and support. Many brands even have slimming compression fabric built in. If you invest in good quality bathing suits rather than cheap ones, you'll look slimmer because the fabric will hold up over time with wear. Cheap fabrics break down quickly, causing a stretched out, baggy, wilted look with each and every wear. Buying two or three high-end swimsuits over nine or ten cheap ones will give you a confidence boost and leave you feeling glad you made the switch. Reasons to buy good quality slimming swimsuits Shop Slimming Swimsuit Styles 5. Choose a Compression Swimsuit Compression swimsuits are a great option for anyone looking to smooth and streamline their body. These swimsuits typically feature tummy control fabric that can help create a slimmer silhouette. The key to this type of swimsuit is buying the right size, of course. Your swimwear needs to be snug, for the compression aspect to work. Read more about how a swimsuit should fit and see a real customer's journey to find the perfect fitting swimsuits. So if you buy a tummy control swimsuit and it's loose when you try it on, it's the wrong size. A loose swimsuit when dry translates to a really loose one when it's wet. A tummy control swimsuit should feel like it's supporting, hugging, and smoothing your body. Tankinis, bikinis, and one-pieces all come in compression styles, so there are plenty of options to choose from.  6. Accessorize Accessories can be a great way to add some style and flair to your swimsuit look. Plus, some accessories can make you appear smaller. Macrame Beach Bag A wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses can help protect your face from the sun and create a chic, sophisticated look. Additionally, a large hat makes your body look smaller, relatively. An oversized tote beach bag can work similarly. Enhance your beach look with a stylish beach cover up A cover-up can also be a great accessory, adding some coverage and style to your beach or poolside look. Just be sure to choose accessories that complement your swimsuit and make you feel confident. 7. Carry Yourself with Confidence Finally, the way you carry yourself can have a big impact on how you look and feel in your swimsuit. Standing up straight, pulling your shoulders back, and walking confidently together can create a slimming effect and boost your confidence. Remember, confidence is key when it comes to looking and feeling great in a swimsuit. So, hold your head up high and rock that swimsuit with confidence! By using any, or all, of these tips, you can look and feel slimmer in a swimsuit, no matter your body type. Discovering your ideal swimsuit can be a challenge, but with these tips, you can easily enhance your look and confidence. By choosing a flattering swimsuit, using dark solid colors, measuring yourself for the right fit, investing in quality over quantity, accessorizing, and walking tall, you can achieve the slimming effect you desire. Next time you're ready to hit the beach or pool, you can do it with elevated confidence and style Looking for tailored style & fit advice? Best Swimwear for Sagging Breasts – A Complete Guide

by Opal Hurteau
Get 15% off swimsuits for sagging bust This blog will provide you with a bunch of useful tips and tricks you probably don't know about to help you choose the right swimsuit for sagging breasts. If you'd rather start shopping now, here's a great collection of swimwear for sagging busts. To learn more, read this comprehensive blog first. There's another link to the collection at the end. "I've never felt so amazing in a swimsuit before. Grateful to have found these good quality bathing suits online" — Susan M., Etobicoke Ontario   Everyone knows aging is a part of life. For women, as we get older, so does our skin. This is especially true for breast tissue, causing noticeable sagginess. Even though it's completely normal, it can create challenges with your normal wardrobe routine and even how you feel about your body. The three main causes for a sagging chest: As you grow older, your estrogen levels decrease which causes changes in your breast tissue. Aging can cause loss of volume. This can make your breasts droop rather than be perky. Changes when you lose or gain weight. Weight fluctuation can cause breast tissue to stretch or contract. Over time your skin loses its elasticity and gravity wins. Sagging breasts after children is common. Skin ligaments stretch as your breasts get heavier during pregnancy. There are many changes that happen to your body when you are pregnant, and not everything goes back to the way it was originally. Because of these challenges, some women elect to have surgery. The other option is to accept, love, and embrace your body the way it is. Without surgery, there are some really amazing tips and tricks to help you with a sagging chest. The main ideas here can also be used to help guide you in the purchase of undergarments because they're universally useful. A sagging chest creates the need for good quality swimwear that does double duty and works like a bra to lift and support. We've put together a list of 10 swimwear features and tips that can help you find the best swimsuits for sagging breasts. If your bathing suit contains one or more of these features, it can provide the support you need to keep the chest in place and looking perky. Get 15% off supportive swimsuits "It lifts and supports better than anything else I've purchased." — Fiona T., Calgary Alberta Here's the list: 1. Structured or molded cups - Molded cups are created in the shape of a perky, lifted chest. This allows you to place your breast tissue into the cups so they take the same shape and create a smooth, round finish. They're usually made of sturdy, structured foam and work well to lift your breasts and shape them into sexy, feminine silhouette   2. Bra-like fit and ability to shop by cup size - This is especially helpful if you have a larger bust and require more support. The ability to buy swimsuits by cup size means you can use your bra cup size to get the perfect fit. 15% off best swim for sagging bust "I honestly have never had such a great quality swimsuit before. The fabric is on another level. Way better than my other ones. And the underwire is fantastic. — Michelle E., Brampton Ontario   3. Adjustable back straps – Many cup size swimsuits also have an adjustable back strap. What better feeling than wearing a high-quality bikini top that fits like your favorite bra? Choose the back setting that's perfect for you for a customized fit like your best bra.   4. Underwire cups - To get a lifted, supported look that stays in place, an underwire is vital, especially for a heavier sagging chest. Underwire comes in many bikinis, tankinis, and one piece swimsuits. Often underwire is hidden for a traditional swimsuit look. For an edgy, provocative look shop swimsuits without hidden underwires such as a bustier bikini top style. 5. Adjustable and convertible shoulder straps – The ability to adjust and wear the straps in different ways to suit your needs is amazing. Criss-crossing the shoulder straps are the best way to add an extra level of support to a sagging bust. "Very Supportive. I got a Sea Level swimsuit with adjustable straps in size 12US/14CAN" — Shannon W., Vancouver British Columbia 6. Side boning – A vertical piece placed under the arms on the side of each breast. Side boning keeps the chest forward for a perky, lifted look. This creates a flattering, youthful look. Side boning also smooths the back wing to lessen the underarm bulge.   7. Wide shoulder straps – To more evenly distribute the weight of a sagging heavy chest on the shoulders and prevent digging in. Wide shoulder straps add extra support for a comfortable fit. 8. Compression fabric - A good quality shape wear swimsuit can keep the chest in place, lifted, and hugged close to the body. This can be the single most powerful and only feature you need for a sagging chest, even a heavier one. Shop the best quality compression swimsuits if you choose this option. You'll get a traditional, minimalist swimsuit look and a silhouette that can make you look 20 years younger  9. Lift breast tissue into each cup - This is the most important step to remember when trying on your swimsuit for a sagging chest. It's important because if your chest tissue is not completely inside the cup, above the underwire, and in front of the side boning, how can these features help you? The answer is, they can't. The swimsuit will feel and look like it doesn't fit if you miss this last step. Here's what to do: Put your supportive swimsuit or bikini top on Bend at the waist until your upper torso is parallel with the floor Reach into your swimsuit with your right hand and place the left breast into the left cup of the swimsuit, above the underwire, or at a comfortable place mid-chest if wearing a compression swimsuit Do the same with the right breast. Reach in with your left hand and place the right breast into the right cup or at a comfortable spot if you choose a swimsuit without cups Then stand up Your chest should look and feel well supported If you're wearing a bikini top, the band around the back should look parallel to the floor and not be riding up 10. Choose a good quality swimsuit - This may sound obvious, but quality materials not only last longer, but they look better. When you're looking for support, you really can notice the difference when you choose a quality swimsuit. So make sure you look for swimwear brands that have a good reputation for quality and have supportive design elements. Swimsuits from top swimwear brands Sea Level Australia, Miraclesuit, and Artesands are created to help with issues like a sagging chest or a larger bust that needs support. They are undoubtedly the best swimwear for a sagging bust.   15% off swimsuits for a sagging bust "5 stars for both of my new swimsuits. They lift and hold everything. Plus the tummy control is another game changer." — Trina H., Regina Saskatchewan   These designer swimwear brands even offer cup-size swimsuits from A cup all the way to G cup and are a perfect option for plus size swimwear with built-in bras or high-end compression swimwear. They also have many other benefits such as minimizing the look of a belly.   Remember: Self-confidence is the greatest gift you can give yourself. When you feel great on the inside, it radiates outwards. Your choice of swimsuits is up to you so choose whatever makes you happy and don't worry about the opinions of others. How to measure yourself correctly for plus size - the ultimate guide

by Opal Hurteau
If you want to get it right when it comes to buying swimwear online, you've come to the right spot. Follow these simple steps to get all your measurements. Then you can follow any online size guide, easily. Understanding that everybody is different, is vital in finding the perfect fit for your swimsuit. We’re not cookies made from the same cutter; everyone is unique. That’s why it's so important to measure yourself, then follow the size guide for each brand of swimsuit you want to buy. This eliminates the possibility that it won’t fit or that you'll need to return it. Say goodbye to ill-fitting swimsuits with these measurement tips for plus size Measuring your body is easy. Plus, you only need to measure yourself once in a while. Just jot down the measurements and use it as a reference when online shopping. Double-check from time to time to see if there are any changes. All body measurements can fluctuate based on circumstances; this is completely natural. If you're comfortable, ask someone you trust to help you so that you get the most accurate numbers. However, if you decide to do it yourself, take a deep breath and relax. All you need is about 5 minutes and you're all set. These are the things you'll need: A full-length mirror 2 Fabric tape measures (or a long piece of string and a regular tape measure) A calculator A pen or pencil Paper What should you wear while taking your measurements? Ideally, you should wear a good-fitting, supportive bra with minimal or no padding and comfortable underwear. If you wear clothes while measuring, your numbers may not be correct. Wear minimal clothing to get accurate swimsuit sizing There are 6 body measurements required to find your perfect-fitting curvy swimsuit: 1. Bust 2. Underbust 3. Waist 4. Upper hip 5. Lower hip 6. Torso or body length First 5 of 6 body measurements required to find your perfect fitting curvy swimsuit Take your measurements twice to ensure they're accurate. 1. Measuring your bust You'll need to measure the widest part of your bust for this measurement. Remember to wear a supportive bra with minimal or no padding that fits well. NO booster, push up, or minimizer bras. A bra without padding or an everyday use bra. Measure the widest part of your bust for this measurement Stand sideways and look at yourself in the mirror. Your bra back should be parallel and in line with the front of your bra and the ground. Now run the tape measure horizontally across the fullest part of your bust, ensuring it is still parallel to the floor. Write down the number you get on your paper. 2. Measuring your underbust You will need to measure under your bust for this measurement Again, please make sure you wear a supportive bra that fits well as mentioned above. Stand sideways and look at yourself in the mirror. Your bra back should be parallel and in line with the front of your bra and the ground. Now run the tape measure horizontally just under the bottom of your bra at the back, ensuring it is still parallel to the floor. Wrap the measuring tape just beneath your bust, to measure your underbust accurately You want to make sure the tape measure is sitting under your breasts and doesn’t include any of your busts. This is where the mirror comes in handy. Write down the number you get on your paper. 3. Measuring your waist You will need to measure your waist at its smallest point for this measurement. You will need to measure on bare skin. Stand in front of a full-length mirror and bend to one side, looking for the natural indentation in your torso. This is your natural waistline. If you cannot find your natural waistline, you can measure the lowest point of the rib cage, which is midway around your torso. Place the measuring tape around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your midsection Run the tape measure around your natural waistline, keeping it parallel to the ground. Once found, tie a ribbon or piece of string securely around your natural waist as you need this for the next two measurements. Write down the number you get on your paper. 4. Measuring your Upper Hip You will need to measure your stomach at its fullest point for this measurement. Look in the mirror and position the measuring tape vertically at the side of your body. The tape measure should then be placed at the lowest edge of the string or ribbon. Measure approximately 10 cm down from the waistline or to the widest point of your tummy. Find your upper hip by wrapping the measuring tape horizontally around the fullest part of your stomach Make a mental note of this point and measure horizontally around the fullest part of the abdomen, parallel to the floor. This is your upper hip. Write down the number you get on your paper. 5. Measuring your Lower Hip Look in the mirror and position the tape measure vertically at the side of your body. The tape measure should then be placed at the lowest edge of the string or ribbon. Measure down approximately 18-25 cm down from the waistline tape or to the widest point of your bottom or hips. Find your lower hip by wrapping the measuring tape horizontally around the fullest part of your hips Make a mental note of this point and measure horizontally around the fullest part of your bottom or hips, parallel to the floor. This is your lower hip. Your measurements will be skewed if this is uneven, so please make sure to measure carefully. Write down the number you get on your paper. 5. Measuring your Torso You will need to measure your body length for this measurement. Having a friend is great to help with measuring your torso or body length. You will likely need both tape measures for this step. Position the tape measure at the center of the top of your shoulder, where your bra strap sits. Start by draping the tape measure over your shoulder and bring it to the front if you are doing this solo. Measure your torso by placing the tape at the center of the top of your shoulder, running it through your legs and up to your shoulder point Run the tape measure through your legs and up to your shoulder point. It is quite common to need two tape measures to do this successfully. When you bring the tape measure through to the front, you can see when the tape measure runs out and where to continue the new tape measure easily. Write down the number you get on your paper. How do I find my bust cup size? Finding your cup size is very simple. All you need are the measurements you recorded above. Get a calculator, and minus your under-bust measurement from your bust measurement. This will give you your cup size measurement. In conclusion, once you have these numbers you'll find that the bathing suits you buy fit better. This exercise ensures you get the correct size for your body. Each designer assigns different sizes for different measurements so make sure to check each designer's size guide when online shopping. Also, make sure to re-check your measurements every three - six months or so as your body may change. If you've got your measurements written down and are excited to find the perfect plus size swimsuit, check out this collection of plus size swimwear, one pieces, tankinis and bikinis.
